If you are looking for a clean, sober, professional, academic, well-researched, historically-accurate, generally-accurate, serious podcast on Southern folklore.
THIS IS *NOT* THAT PODCAST.
If you have decided you can live with that….then you have come to the right place!

Listen (strong language warning) as we swap unusual, bizarre, creepy, and uniquely Southern stories, personal and historical, from three-legged ghosts to female serial killers and Appalachian UFOs. And the occasional chipmunk & lizard runs amok.

Patrice N. Anderson is a graphic design professor by day and living the secret podcast co-host life by night. Podcasting may be a new outlet for her, but as a born-and-raised Mississippi gal, her love of telling stories, drinking, and chewing the fat is old hat. Southern oddities, peculiarities, and lore are her favorite which led her to start the podcast “The Strange South” in 2018 with her friend and writer Marleah Blades.

Marleah Blades is a writer, an amateur bug photographer, and a Southerner by adoption, bless it. She loves collecting weird things, people, and stories, so she considers The Strange South podcast the true pinnacle of her talents. It’s all downhill from here, y’all.
