Episode 149: The Spooky South Halloween Mocktail

Ingredients

About 1 cup cranberry juice

6 Cups of Orange Juice (pulp free)

3 oz lemon juice

¾ cup honey

3 cups tonic water

6 drops red and 12 drops yellow food coloring (optional to add a deeper orange color)

Black sugar crystals or crushed black non-pareils (cupcake sprinkles as I did not know this term. LOL)

2-3 Lemon Wedges

For Alcoholic version: 2-1/2 Cups vodka

Directions

Fill a non-powdered latex glove with the cranberry juice, leaving space at the top to tie off.

Freeze overnight.

Use a lemon wedge to wet glass rims.

Dip rims into a plate of black sugar/crushed non-pareils.

Add orange juice, honey, and lemon to a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer. If you want to add the food coloring, add during the simmer.

Let mixture cool and then refrigerate for at least one hour.

If adding vodka, mix it in now.

Add mixture to punch bowl.

Add the tonic water.

Serve in glasses rimmed with black sugar.
